Our flagstones come from our quarry which is near the world famous Cliffs Of Moher. The sandstone flags were formed from sand and mud laid down in the Carboniferous period about 320 million years ago.
Every flagstone is unique, it's a natural product with texture and colour determined by millennia of geological processes. They are incredibly strong, hard-wearing and beautiful. Some of our flagstones would be similar in appearance to York Stone.
The rough flagstones go from our quarry to the workshop where they are cut to standard widths to enable simple coursing of the flags. They are sawn in 18" 21" 24" 27" and 30" width, with variable lengths. This feature can be very usefull for layingto a coarse pattern.
